David McMurray, having always enjoyed pastimes such as golf, college football, and beach trips—has now opted for more time spent with his grandchildren. The oldest could not pronounce his chosen nickname, “Papa Mac,” and instead called him “Paco,” as all his grandchildren now lovingly call him. He believes that every minute spent with the little ones is not only irreplaceable but also truly a blessing.

David’s inspiration for Papa Pea and Lil Ol’ Me comes from his own experience of not knowing what he could be when he grew up. Although he dreamed of being a pediatrician, he felt like he was never focused enough to achieve that goal. He hopes that this first book in the Lil Ol’ Me series will encourage children to follow their dreams as they explore the world around them.

Drawing is my medium for expressing what's inside me that I can almost never put into words. This led me to draw extensively from a young age, and over time, my passion turned into my profession.

I live and grew up in Italy, exactly in northern Italy, in a small town a few kilometres far from Milan. I love where I live, because I am surrounded by beautiful places, with lots of greenery and, as soon as I have some time, I love to walk through the countryside and the hills.
